        * man setserial
        * Read the PPP-HOWTO -- should be in /usr/doc/ and/or
/usr/share/doc
        * Try running wvdialconf on your modem
        * What distribution is this? If it is Debian, did you try
pppconfig -- pon/plog/poff et. al. ? BTW, I don't know if other
distributions have pppconfig ? Maybe "alien pppconfig.deb ->
pppconfig.whatever" and try it out?
        * Try kermit'ing / minicom -s 'ing ... and see if it works.
        * Remember that your /dev/modem should be symlinked to
whichever port your modem is really on.
        For example, my /dev/modem -> /dev/ttyS1

        Things to remember : man ln -- for making the symlink ... use
-s
        ttyS* ... its case sensitive...

        I have personally setup many - about 4 - GVC modem - using -
boxen ... and they *all* worked with wvdialconf ... so do check it out
... www.worldvisions.ca/wvdial or some such - don't quote me on
it... search Freshmeat
