When using pppd which came with the stock rhl 6.1 distro (ppp-2.3.10-1),
I would often get a pppd error the first or second time I tried to
connect. Subsequently pppd would connect flawlessly, every time, till I
rebooted.
The redhat updates section had mention of the same problem and
recommended an update to ppp-2.3.10-3, which was supposed to solve the
above problem. But the problem persists, even after the update, though
less frequently
Any suggestions to rectify the problem?
I use rhl 6.1 with ppp support in the kernel compiled as a module and
dialup using kppp. I also checked the log files after adding the options
'debug' and 'kdebug' to pppd. Couldn't find the fault though......
