A classic case!! Linux does not take very well to PnP cards. But
you've ot to use the ard, right?? So try these
1. In your BIOS setup, disable PnP , ie, set the PnP option to no.
Then boot Linux and configure the card using soundconfig or manually
editing the config file. That should get things going.
2. I believe that u'll be dual booting ur system. So, when u start
windows after this, u'll see that the bloody card won't work..coz PnP
is disabled:). Dunno the work around here.
3. There's another way to run the soundcard without changing BIOS
settings, but it is a pain. You boot to M$Windows and then load linux
using loadlin, configure sound.
