Friend,

Posting a query like this on this list on a bad day could get you
flamed. May I suggest you get yourself a book on programming on Unix?
"Programming Linux" by two blokes whose names I forget is a pretty good
beginners text. Gives you an introduction to C/C++, Perl, Shell, on
Linux. Well worth the Rs525/- cost. It's published by WROX/SPD.

The list is pretty helpful to newbies like us, but it helps if you show
that you've done your homework.
