Dear Friends,

It is necessary to develop an application and environment which supports
Hindi in Linux.

AFAIK we have atleast 2 fonts "Richa.ttf" and "Naidunia.ttf" which are
compatible in Linux.

to enable the fonts (or generally true type fonts) in RedHat Linux 6.1,

1. copy all ttf fonts to '/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/ttf',

2. "cd /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/ttf",

3. (run command) "ttmkfdir -o fonts.dir"

4. (run command) "chkfontpath -add /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/ttf"

5. restart X server by pressing CTRL+ALT+BACKSPACE.

now you can use Hindi as well as almost all true type fonts in Linux.
especially in KDE.

Your brother
Rizwan.
