Ah, how lovely!!!! Our list has got its own resident troll.
It's pretty simple, so I will spell it out word by word.
"READ THE LI ARCHIVES and FAQ BEFORE POSTING".
99.9999999% of the questions newbies (for want of a better term) ask have
been answered on the list several dozen times before.
Excellent HOWTOs (compiled by people on this list, and various others)
are available on several dozen websites. OK, I'll be a bit generous :)
1. If you want howtos on linux, See some sites like
http://www.exocore.com/linux and http://www.local.net/~jgo (or go straight
to http://www.linuxdoc.org). Try searching at http://www.google.com/linux
2. For more howtos, read old PC Quest articles instead of selling old
issues to the raddiwala. If you have already sold the old PCQs, visit
their website at http://www.pcquest.com
3. If you want to know what software is available for <something>, search
http://www.freshmeat.net
So, is it unreasonable for us to say "RTFM before posting, we are tired of
answering the same question [1] time and again"?
[1] Especially if the question is something like -
"Hi!!!
My YMF 724 sound card / SiS 6215c video card (or whatever) is not working
on linux, but it works on windows.
Can you gurus help?
Bye"
Think about it. And till then, GoAT.
