Hi,
In fact my problem is solved. As suggested my you people on the mailing list I entered
exec for
/mnt/cdrom and /u01 mount points in /etc/fstab and there on all the scripts ran
without any problems. Before this the scripts were not getting executed properly
specially the linux.sh script and as a result oracle was not installed properly. After
putting exec in fstab I installed Oracle again
and this time everything worked fine. No problems at all.
Database creation part took around 4 1/2 hrs. on my machine( 166MHZ MMX , 48MB SDRAM
). I installed
it on one of the partitions of 2.1GB Samsung drive which I disposed off yesterday. Now
I am
confident of installing oracle and will install it on my new 17GB HDD when I receive
it.
Thanks to all who helped.
