[LIH] e2fsck

I have RHL 6.1 and I get the following message on boot up:

Ext2fs warning: checktime reached, running e2fsck is recommended.

How do I do this ? I have a single / partition so how do I unmount this ?
I have a working boot floppy. 

a detailed answer would be appreciated.
