PINE has IMAP at least (if compiled for imap). IIRC there is a pop3
option which has to be compiled in as well.
You'd call it as pine -f{imap.server.name}Inbox (say)
Mutt can do pop3 and imap checking very well - again, if enabled when
compiling it.
