I have not used eXceed, but I can say that MiX is pretty flakey. I've
had fairly good results with X-WinPro (search TUCOWS). As for getting
"Linux Desktop" -- you have to remember that in both Gnome & KDE the
desktop is the end result of numerous programs. It's not like Windows
where the entire desktop is provided by explorer.exe.

Under KDE, the startKDE script will start all these programs for you.
This always bombed under MiX for me.

Which brings me to my doubt: what is the order of scripts executiuon
when you run "startx" ? I'm sure it's documented somewhere but I
haven't found it yet (Admittedly, I haven't looked yet. :) ).
