[LIH] Monitor Configuration

I have RH 6.1 on my machine. When I switch over from Samtron
monitor
to Comapq V45 monitor, the X does not work. How can I
reconfigure
only the Monitor settings so that it works. I tried xconf -
it asks too many questions
which is difficult to answer - Is there a simpler way?
