As far as I know this is, first time, somebody has come up with the
problem and complete description in LILO case. That's really nice..
However in your case also you need not reinstall linux. You could have
boot using floppy with 'root=/dev/hda3' at lilo prompt. I hope you never
repeat that exercise(unless tweaking around.., but you will be expert
then...:-))
Frankly even if I did post the portion of LILO help, I did not understand
it completely till you posted those two lines. Thanks for filling the
blanks..
