Market demand: As Suresh said: VB etc.

But, I would say that "it is your wish". The differences between the
two.

Language bindings:
        Qt: Basically C++
        GTK+: Basically C

Environment:
        Qt: KDE (supported a lot by SuSE, a good environment)
        GTK+: GNOME (GNU project, supported by RH, also good)

Documentation/books:
        Qt: Documents at the KDE site etc.
        GTK+: Documents at GNOME, GTK website. Also a good beginner's book
available in a Indian edition.

There may be lots of other differences, but these are the ones I
remember offhand. Both have lots of similarities, and yet some
differences. I guess u can learn either, though from experience I might
put GTK over Qt, imply because the book is available here. I don't know
about the availability of the Qt book.

sachin
