i tried to install linux 6.2 from the cdrom that came
with pcquest this month.i have win98, 8 GB HDD, 64
RAM.,samsung samtron 55E monitor.
i tried to boot directly from the cdrom(this is
supported by my bios).after the initial l
boot ,the screen went dead even before language
selection menu could be displayed.i have win98 loaded
on a 5 GB partition and the rest has been left unused
for linux installation.
also booting from floppy(boot.img) failed.i faced the
same problem when i tried to install linux 6.1 from
the pcquest cdrom(nov 99).i am stuck up and really
want to see linux on my pc.
i had successfully installed win98 earlier by booting
from its installation cdrom.
please help
