However what is an argument according to me is that though the winmodems
are cheaper to make because they have more of the innards in software
companies are generally not giving the benefits back to the consumers ,
and in some cases they aren't even clearly stating the difference . I.e.
most modems don't have "this is a winmodem or HCF whatever blah blah
modem on the cover. it should be there so that you can see what you're
buying. especially in India where the shops don't give no-lemon
guarantees.
