        This is with regard to the June PCQ issue wrt some Linux
articles. I just got a mail asking me to explain what the # prompt used
sometimes in the text meant.

        Well, the convention we used was that the $ prompt was used for
any command that any user could execute and that the # prompt stood for
commands that required you to be root to execute.

        Sorry if it caused any confusion.
