hello,
i have faced two peculiar problems for which i dont find any logical answer
1)I installed RH6.2 from the PCQ cd.i configured the box as a ppp dial
in server.i have mailed the list regarding this problem. i am able to
connect to this machine from a win95 client. i am able to run pppd.
after that i was unable to connect to my LAN on which the server is
sitting?I tried a lot of options, but was unsucceful . finally i reverted
back to RH6.1. I was able to configure it in the first attempt itself and
it worked perfectly fine!!! what could have been wrong. i can assure that
all the settings i did in rh6.2 was same as what i did in RH6.1
2) a similar kind of problem occured a few days back.i installed Rh6.1
thro ftp from sunsite.serc.iisc.ernet.in
after installing i found that i am unable to telnet to that machine from
anywhere else.But i am able to telnet to other machines from this one.
The error is "all network ports in use".
after tinkering on that for a few days.. i reinstalled it from a chip cd.
it worked fine.
what could have been wrong?
is it that the disritbution has some problem?
i mean that particular copy has some problem?
in that case the RH6.2 i got on PCQ cd has the problem with ppp.
can any of the gurus find a logical reason for this?
