Hi
         You could mount the /boot partition and access the files there. 
For this use linuxconf.
         Or u could modify the fstab file in the /etc directory. In this 
file you could specify the mount point, which is a directory that has to be 
created say /mnt/boot. Specify your device type i.e. /dev/hdc5 and the type 
of the partition which is ext2. Rest you could guess by giving this file a look
Save the file and run the command mount /mnt/boot ... the mount point you 
created.
You can then access your files from /mnt/boot directory.
