Hi *,
I have a problem at hand. We have around 40 machines in the lab
comprising of around 9 different operations systems ( which include
Linux, NT , OS/2 and other Commercial Unices ). Now there is so much
wastage of space on all these machines, that we have decided to go for
collating all this space and mapping it onto a single machine. Now all
this has to be done in such a way that there is no performance loss in
the network.
Coda unfortunately is only available on Linux and BSD's and not so
stable from what I understood.
Samba maybe a solution, but how do we collate all that into a single
space and also there might be network performance issues.
Then another options is DFS which seems to be present on most unices,
but I dunno about how good it is on Linux and other *BSD's.
I wanted to know if anybody is doing similar stuff !
Because again Linux has to handle all this stuff. Would be glad if
anyone can help !!
Thanks
Regards
Carter
