This might be working because smbclient does not use wins for hostname
resolution. Probably just picking it up from /etc/hosts or DNS.

Looks like the samba box is not registered with your master browser.

I am no NT guy but is there a way you can find whether the samba box
has registered it self with your NT master browser?
Also, are there any trust relationships to take care of?
