Easy way out : As luser, type this at a prompt: "xhost +localhost" ; Then su,
[or sudo] ;
Run kppp [1] - Details on why this sucks - man xhost
Tough [But more secure] way out: You gotta RTFM to get the goodies ;)

[1] - IMHO, Use a console Dialer from tty1-6 - If your X generally gives up on you,
and you had
used kppp, your connection dies, too. I guess this is applicable if you can't afford
to get
offline for too long, or ig wget is doing things in the background.
