the map file is generally /boot/map and not boot/system.map
I know system.map holds name and linkage info about kernel symbols
/boot/map is lilos map of the kernel segments created while running
/sbin/lilo
so please don't mix them up or you won't be able to boot
In fact don't specify map, and it will take the default /boot/map
