Did you update the aliases after doing all this? Recheck and regenerate the
aliases db file. If not, do it. Postfix will not without it.
As to why mails are not found even under root, I don't think postfix ever
delivers mails to root. You have to create an alias for root as well and
deliver the root mails to someone else. Postfix works fine for me here, tho
I don't use it to mail local users;)
