Try to use the diskette or cd that come out with the hard disk,for example seagate
hard disks come with a cd that is used to partition & recognise HDD > 8 GB.See Your
Vendor

Problem with using the dos fdisk is the limit to 1024 cylinders. this
means that I can effectively access only roughly 8 GB :(
Your method is perfect for disks less than that limit.
Any other methods ??
