Hi

What you say is correct but I want to use optimisations specific to AMD.
compatibility is not really an issue.

Yesterday when I got mobo and CPU, I unplugged my hdd, NT/Linux dual boot and
plugged to new machine. My earlier configuration was Celeron 400 and new is AMD
K6 II 500. Linux proceeded smoothly whereas NT refused to load saying 'error in
NTLDR'.

But real issue is to what CPU optimisations, should I compile the applications?
To my experience, linux was about 30% faster when I compiled stock RHL6.1 kernel
to Pentium optimisation. I want to do the same stuff over here.

 Bye
