Hi, It's that time of the year again, and my client, Palcom, is looking for people to be based in Delhi. Job descriptions: - Data center executives: You will be working in shifts, manning (or wommaning) the Palcom data center. You will be responsible for first line support for multiple Linux and NT servers and the routing backbone. Requirements: Good Linux and/or NT system administration skills, some router experience preferable, willingness to play with new technologies (more about that under). - Dedicated server master: You will be responsible for making the Linux and NT dedicated servers from scratch. Get the hardware, make the box, install the OS and any other required software, set up networking, burn the server in and install it in the data center. You will have support for any of the tasks above which you like to delegate, but the overall responsibility for making the servers to the clients' specifications will be yours. Requirements: Linux/NT admin experience, good knowledge of basic networking fundamentals, hardware experience preferred. Shell/Perl scripting experience would be a welcome bonus. You definitely need to have experience with setting up and running HTTPD, DNS, FTPD, etc on multiple platforms. - Router expert: Manage all the routers on the Palcom backbone and borders, and keep data flowing both ways as efficiently as possible. Interact with upstream bandwidth providers to implement routing policies. Requirements: At least 5 years Cisco/Bay experience with BGP4 and Internet connectivity. - Development: All positions: programming, design, requirements analysis, documentation, project management. C, Java, Perl, PHP and RDBMS experience preferred. 1-10 years experience. Requirements: Hmm, I think I said it all above :-) Salaries will be good (match/exceed industry standards and all that <you-know-what>). You will of course have 24-hour connectivity to the 'net on fast links and freedom to use that any way you want. However... You are likely to have some spare time (especially in the Data Center shifts) so here is a list of projects which will keep you busy during those long night shifts. You will be given the resources for implementing these projects, general guidelines and any technical help you need; how fast to implement them is up to you. - Linux clustering, load balancing and high availability. - Server and router monitoring and alerts (through various media: phone, mail, voice, etc). - Linux routers. - Any other project which you think is interesting. Send me a mail if you're interested. No MS format documents please ;-) Regards, -- Raju ----------------------------------------------------- An alpha version of a web based tool to manage your subscriptions with this majordomo2 server is available at http://lists.linux-india.org/cgi-bin/mj_wwwusr
