devadas's solution last of all... and only tht worked....
devadas... it would be really nice if you could help me understand the
meaning of this string... wht is happening in here???
and gosh! thx goodness i am finally sure tht i aint gotta winmodem..
(thts wht scared me most.... students aint rich these days....)
okay, the part deux of my problem... i was finally able to establish a
connection with my ISP... i established a terminal based connection...
and as soon as i pressed on continue (after feeding in my
login/pass).... i instantly got disconnected... and gotta msg...
"This pppd conection has disconnected unexpectedly"
all the energy and excitement and shiver which ran from my feet rite up
to my skull was flushed rite there and then...
could someone help me out in there again??? or suggest me any readings
to find my way out....
