Subject: Problem in connecting two Linux machines
Hello all,
Have you connected two Linux m/cs?
I have one Linux 6.2 machine on which I am running DHCP Server which is
alloting local IPs to my Win9X clients, DHCP is working well for these
machines but it is not alloting IP to a machine which has Linux 6.2 again,
why?
If I am giving static local IP to Linux machine then it is pinging to eth0
of own but not pinging the main server and other m/cs in the network. What
settings are required for this m/c to be made so that I can ping and talk
with other m/cs, please suggest?
I am doing this because in front of us there is another institute
which is connected through optical fibre from our VSAT. They want to setup
there own e-mail server but because of Public IP problem
I am trying to give a local IP and try to configure for mail
server but on the very first step I am failing. The m/c of that institute
on which I installed Linux 6.2 is not talking with my Linux server.
If there is any alternate way for solving this problem then pl. suggest
me?
kind regards,
Karan Singh
