Absolutely, if you have compiled the kernel, make sure that you selected ram disk
support. The kernel supports ram disks out of the box. Then you'll need to install the
file system on it (I think the command is "mke2fs -vm0 /dev/ram xxxxx", the xxxxx
designates the size of the ramdisk. Then all you need to do is create a mount point
(mkdir rdsk - or wherever else you decide to mount it) then "mount /dev/ram /rdsk".
You can verify that all is well with the "df" command. There is plenty of
documentation, hunt around!

can i mount a part of the ram as a filesystem, just like another
partition ? if so, should i "format" it into a ext2 fs ?
