Because of using Outlook Express ;) Junk it and get something
decent like Pegasus Mail or Eudora Pro (which will become decent
when you tell it not to render HTML and definitely not to use M$'s
viewer to view mails).

That - and the fact that several times, administrative bounces from
the list may go out to the original authors of the post.
Anyway, attachments of type message/rfc822 (e-mail attachments)
are automatically displayed inline by most mail clients ...
