hi all,

first,my setup:-
a multidrop mailbox with vsnl.all mails addressed to users of my domain are
stored in a single mailbox with vsnl.aliases for all users have been taken
from webindia.so,if a mail is addressed to [EMAIL PROTECTED],it first goes
to webindia.com,then from there gets redirected to [EMAIL PROTECTED],which
is the login name of my acct. with vsnl.from there it is d/loaded by nt
mdaemon and dispatched to users locally.this setup is to be replicated in
red hat 6.2
now,my problem:-
i have successfully installed and configured sendmail.it sends mail
addressed to my domain locally w/o any trouble, else it queues it for later
delivery.now fetchmail has been configured to d/l all mails and forward it
to sendmail which then passes it on to procmail for delivery.the trouble is
fetchmail adds its own header to all the d/loaded mails, before passing it on
to sendmail, like [EMAIL PROTECTED] fools sendmail into thinking
that the recipient is user mydomain who does not exist locally,so it bounces
it to postmaster(me).how can i avoid this addition of header by fetchmail,so
that sendmail can deliver it correctly.
another idea i have is to let procmail do the sorting.so,i'd like to give a
search in the header for -* for.*@mydomain.com-if found deliver it to
whoever that * between the for. and @mydomain.com happens to be.so,the
question is can i store the value of that * in a variable and then tell
procmail to deliver it to [EMAIL PROTECTED] gives me the advantage
of not having to modify the rc file each time a user is added.the bouncing
of mails not in our domain is taken care of by vsnl itself,so i tell
fetchmail to d/l all mails in the mailbox.
please help!!!
also, while at it,how can i terminate the dialup connection if there is no
activity for say 10 minutes.

thanks in advance & sorry for the long mail.
regards,
sitaram shastri.
