Thankfully, in the world of CD writers, all CD writers (that I know
of) follow the same ATAPI protocol. So any CD writer will work on
linux. The basic software you need is mkisofs to make a CD image from
the file you want to put onto the CD, and cdrecord to burn the image
onto the CD. These are available with most distributions of Linux.
