Hi,
To delete the linux partition what I used was first I booted my machine with
Linux and than
through its fdisk I deleted all its partition and created a single
FAT32 partition than write the partition. Than boot with a windows bootable &
format your harddrive & say fdisk /mbr to overwrite its boot record & try to
do what you want.it will work. Since I also solved my problem like that only.

Use Linux fdisk to delete the partition.
#fdisk /dev/hdx, where x is the appropriate disk
Look at your partition tables and delete the Linux partitions.
