open an xterm -> do 'su' and log as root user -> type "control-panel &"
-> select the third button is printer configuration -> clickingon that
will give an other window -> select add in that -> select the
appropriate printer type -> then you get another window -> enter your
printer name in it -> normally the spool entry will be there (if not
..it is /var/spool/lpd/lp0 ..i fu have a unix printer) -> this is just
the basic configuration for further customization click on the select
button next to Input filter.

i think from here you can easily install your printer.....any problem
then revert...
