Once I changed partition table and closed fdisk after writing the table.
Then I started fdisk again, and rewrote the table as original. I had
jotted down my first table. I was surprized to find  intact files in the
partitions. May be, a large part of the data could be salvaged.

boot in win

delete non dos partition. 

make that as a dos partition

boot of cdrom

using fdisk, create partitions, exactly as you had before the crash.
This assumes that you have the partition info jotted down somewhere.
