You have a bad sector or something like that for sure! You should back up
everything and get a new hard disk. For the time being, go to Linux rescue
mode and run badblocks (badblocks -v -o file /dev/hdax block_count, Re : man
badblocks). This will write the badblock info to the "file". Then run

fsck -l file /dev/hdax

This will prevent the system writing to the bad sectors and so fewer system
crashes. Mind it raising the maximal mount count is not a solution for living
with a damaged hard disk! Don't ever run badblocks with -w option. Read the
man pages first. Don't take my word.
