Hi all,

I found out the problem. My lpr executable should be running with
SUID or at least SGID. It is working ok after I set it SUID.
Another issue. I was unable to chnage my password as a user,
and only root was able to change passwords. Reason agin,
the passwd program was not SUID. Anyone else faced this
problem with RH 6.1 (PCQ). I thought passwd program comes suid out of box.
(That is how it was with earlier version of RH and
my old slackware). Any idea how it is in RH 6.2?

Hi all,

I could configure a printer running on a NT system as samba printer using
printtool in my linux (RH 6.1) box. I'm able to
print as 'root'. But when I try to print as any other user
lpr is giving an error
lpr: cannot create /var/spool/lpd/lp/.seq

Any idea? I tried giving write permission to others on lp directory. No use.

TIA,

Gopal
