Does VSNL actually support compression over its dialup ppp lines? I use
Ethnet in Erode, and the isp supports neither VJ header compression nor
bsdcompress or deflate compression schemes.
As far as I can understand, setting the bsdcomp or deflate options in my
local ppp settings wouldn't really make any difference to my connect
speeds unless my isp at the other end also supports similar compression.
(Please correct me if I'm mistaken).
