Hi all,
Here we are facing some problems regarding the installation and
uninstallations of the rpm package.
We have installed few rpm packages for gcc compiler and now we wish to
uninstall the same.
We gave the following commands to do the needful.
$rpm -qa
This gave us the so name of the package which can now be used with the
uninstall command.
The next command that we gave was
$rpm -e <soname of package >
But this gave us following error,
cannot get exclusive lock on database
error:can not open //var/lib/rpm/packages.rpm
Can u tell us what is the stepwise procedure to uninstall these packages?
