hey john
i think u've changed ur output plugin by mistake and chosen the
diskwriter plugin instead of the default esound plugin. u can change it
from options->preferences->plugins.
and yes u can also put winamp plugins into the .xmms/Skins folder
and enjoy a colourful xmms.
