ankur,
i have the same monitor and faced a similar if not exactly the
same problem. so instead of choosing the LG monitor 1467 i
selected a generic SVGA monitor (in Xconfigurator) that can do
60Hz at 1024x768 resolution. and that solved the problem.

hi everybody....
I have THE SiS 6215 video card and LG 1467 monitor.
and both of these are detected while installing RedHat 6.2.
...also i do mange to get the graphical login screen with the mouse and all work
ing.However the problem is that the font size that i get is very large--about th
e equivalent of the font size 26 of windows--similarly the mouse point that come
s on the screen is also greatly magnified.I have reinstalled linux several times
....and tried all the possible permutations of resolution sizes that are availab
le.
PLEASE help me as i am desperate to work on linux for quite some time now....but
have been unable to do so.
