Hi,
I'm new to Linux. I have installed RedHat Linux 6.2 from the PCQ CD.
The problem I'm having is that I have a 'LG Studioworks 520Si' 15 inch
monitor and a SiS 6326 card (8MB VRAM) that is from a company called
Daytona (I think). During Linux installation the monitor was not in
the monitor list, hence I chose 'generic' and entered the horizontal &
vertical frequencies for it. And the card was detected. Now I could
get only 640*480 resolution.
I tried Xconfigurator but managed only 640*480 resolution again.
My friend told me to use 'xf86config' to configure the monitor and
card. He also warned me that giving the wrong freq for the monitor
would damage it. In the monitor and video card list that appears for
'xf86config' which choices should I go for my configuration? (There
are about 7 types of monitors and 20 cards that say SiS 6326)
