Simply try Alsa from www.alsaproject.org. IIRC, version above 0.5.8 supports
YMF324 based cards. I have the same one but never tried. I got my mobo upgraded
to one with onboard audio/video.
But it should be easy with alsa. They have give detailed and step by step
instruction of how to configure each card. Follow for YMF 724.
