ifconfig eth0:1 <second_ip_addr> netmask <second_netmask>
You can add more addresses by saying eth0:2 eth0:3 etc.
For this to work, you need to have "IP Aliasing" configured in your kernel
- most default kernels shipped with most distro's have this compiled in.
