Hi, I'm having a (strange) problem with a accton en1407 gigabit ethernet card. It's connected with fibre optic cable. The modules are available from the accton website. I compiled and loaded them. Card only works in duplex mode under Linux (options duplex=full). After every hour or so the card stops data transfer. just calling network restart fixes the problem. Earlier it was happening after every 3 to 4 hours, now it is more often. Card probably has 1MB buffer and is connected to PIII-600/256MB. This does not happen on W...... Is this a case of buffers becoming full? This is happening even when data transfer rates are at 1Mbps (that's why we're changing the network topology). Anyone has used these cards before with similiar problems? Any suggestions are welcome. Also does anyone know where the linux-net and linux-admin lists are located now. They had a server crash at Rutgers a month ago and were moved somewhere.
