Dear friends;
Hear is a Problem in DNS Config.
We have a private network with a.b.c.x subnet and got a p.q.r.x for
Internet domain. We have a linux m/c with two cards one for each
subnet i.e one card is connected to private network and other to
internet. The linux m/c is configured as DNS and efficiently resolves
Internet domain Names.Recently We setuped a linux m/c which belongs to the
private network in a.b.c.x domain.we want this second linux m/c to resolve
internet Domain names.I have configured its resolv.conf file like
domain abc.com
nameserver a.b.c.25 (this adrress is in private side).
But whenever I try to ping www.hotmail.com it says bad address.
I have also checked /etc/hosts.conf file it says
order hsots,bind
multi on
I have also tried nslookup command with following options
nslookup - a.b.c.25 but it says
**Can't Find server name for 192.180.200.25:Query Refused
**Default Server Not Aviallable.
So What might be problem.
Is the DNS Configuration at the linux gateway have some problem.
Please show me some light.
