[LIH] about network

Hello, Happy diwali
I am fighting with my NIC card. It is rtl8139 card, which is recognized
when installing RH 6.2. When I ping with the machines ip address from the
same pc, it does not ping. But if I do ping from another pc, i get
response. 
Is there any thing that I over looked?
