Hi,

I tried to install glibc-2.1 on linux 5.2. There was a version clash
and machine stoped booting in linux. The error it was giving was
something like this :

init : unknown version /lib/libc.so.6.......( I do not remember exactly)
init : unknown variable in /lib/libc.so.6....( as above )

Then I tried to upgrade it through local CDROM but then also there was
some problem. It was saying that I am not specifying some option. But
when I was not there one of my friend tried to do forcibly pressing some
arbit options and now its not booting at all. I booted from linux
boot/root floppy and tried to mount /dev/hda2 (active linux partition) on
/mnt now it is unable to recognize these partitions.

Is it possible to get the data back from the hard disk ?
Please try to help me out since there is some important data on hard disk.

Thanks in advance

bye
Ashish
