Nothing has changed. Except that I invited the Google bot to visit the
LIH archive site about a month ago. Also, the CGI inteface that you
talked about is for searching the archive. The way the archiving
happens is as follows: The mbox style archive of the list is first
converted by mhonarc into HTML files. Then a glimpse index of the HTML
files is made. The Wilma CGI script provides a search interface into
the glimpse index.

Google has no way of knowing how many hits any particular page / site
gets. Its search and indexing algorith only keeps track of how many
links point to a particular site. Sites having more links pointing to
them from other sites are rated higher.
Interestingly, Yahoo has started tracking click-aways from its seach
results. Meaning, if you search for a particular string and click on
one of the search results, Yahoo actually tracks which link you clicked
on.
