That is what it will do.

If you want only outbound mails to be restricted, just set mailbox and/or home
directory quotas. Also, any incoming mail > 6 MB is sure to be junk (like
people wanting to send your employees photographs / screensavers and other fw:
fw: junk). If you know a specific message is coming in with size / hear that
it has bounced, relax the quota for that one time.

The mail won't be bounced back with a permanent (5xx series) error if it sees a
full mailbox ... it will just hang around in your queue till you manually
delete it (your only option if it is above your quota limit and you dont want
to relax the quota limit).

Believe me, it is FAR easier than the 8.8.7 config file - you have m4 which
helps you a lot ;)

> Will the sendmail.cf of 8.8.7-20 work with the newer version?

Yes - but dont use it. Any security holes you have (open relaying hacks,
especially) will still remain if you upgrade, but dont replace the sendmail.cf
 file.

Ask on the list (or yahoo messenger colt45revolver if you need help - mail me
first and fix up a time), if you have specific questions - but I suggest you
move asap to 8.9.3 (or even 8.11.1 - the latest). Far easier to configure,
 far more powerful, secure.
